The Netherlands American Chamber of Commerce-Texas Chapter recently hosted their Annual Member Meeting at the Houston Club on June 24th, 2015.
Serving as the Interim President, Nadia Sant, opened the meeting by starting with some recognitions as the Chamber is very grateful to be able to work with talented, committed individuals, like Ilse Harteveldt and Catherine van Zutphen, who did an amazing job initiating the successful Lunch and Learn series. She also rightly mentioned Robbie Hermsen who has done a terrific job IT wise and Myra van den Brand who recently moved to the Netherlands, but will stay involved by serving the bridge between Texas and the Netherlands from the other side of the pond.
Next, the process of the election of our Board of Directors was started, being the main business in order.
Nadia thanked the present Members for completing their ballots and those who had submitted proxies. The results were tallied by an independent individual and Nadia happily announced that all proposed candidates became 2015/2016 Board Directors.
Ralf van der Ven took over and shared the Chamber’s recent successes (membership growth, Lunch and Learn series, successful mixers, cooperation with befriended chamber ), mission (being a one-stop shop in Texas for both American and Dutch companies) and vision (development of cultural and educational exchange programs and a career center) for the Chamber for the upcoming year and opened the bar after an open discussion.
