In the Lunch & Learn series the Netherlands American Chamber of
Commerce - Texas Chamber gathers business people around a broad variety of
topics. There are always interesting people to meet and new things to learn.
We are very pleased to announce that on Monday October 17, 2016 our
guest speaker is:
"Expat Series: Death & Taxes -
Have you ever thought about what would happen if you were to die
while residing in the US?
Most likely, your family depends on you for their visa,
their income, their housing etc.
Are you sure they will have access to your bank accounts?
Can your kids travel if you cannot go with them?
Who has their custody?
What happens to your (financial) assets?
You may not have given the above items any consideration when you moved
to Houston. However, if things go bad, they can go really bad.
That’s why we are so pleased with this talk by Mark Tirpak. He will
not only provide a quick update on important tax-issues to keep in mind
as we approach year end, but he will touch upon steps you can take to protect
your family. While it will not be possible to cover everything in depth, Mark will
give us some things to consider and follow up.
A truly important issue for all expats, so we hope to see you
Monday, October 17 over a lovely Italian lunch.

Pedestrian-based Live Art Theatrical Experience
Remote Houston is a live art theatrical experience that includes walking
and taking the Metro throughout Houston.
Through headphones a computer-generated voice guides the group
in real-time through the city. The performance reveals a “secret
Houston,” going to places normally unseen, places where
humans encounter their limits, places where crowds gather,
Houston’s underground tunnel system, back alleyways, dark
hallways and common areas seen through a new lens.
The tour starts at the Alley Theatre (3:00 pm)
Evergreen Cemetery (3:35 pm)
ends 6:00 pm at the Alley Theater Bar for
Happy Hour and Networking opportunities.
